Charles Dailey AR410 Overhead Receiver
You must love the AR-15 as a platform. It might be a little boring for everyone to create one, but it is such an adaptable, flexible and constantly evolving platform.
This is one of the few projects that I can really call a platform, and it doesn't seem a little awkward. This is mainly because it could be a rifle, a pistol, or even a shotgun. Yeah, shotgun. And today, as the name suggests, we're reviewing the Charles Daily AR.410 overhead receiver.
My local gun shop knows I love weird stuff, especially weird shotguns. When he received a batch of these tops, I just ran to the store for it.
I've seen a .410 top before, but I've never seen one at a price I'm willing to risk. The Charles Dailey top is made in Turkey and Turkish shotguns can hit or miss. Second, the .410's semi-automatic top barrel can be dangerous. However, because my gun shop got a good deal and gave it to a buyer. .. ..
I happily took one home and installed an old Povernity Pony for rock and roll with an AR.410 overhead receiver.
Why .410 AR?
Why not? For me, just one element of fun is enough. I love the small .410 as a cartridge and use it for small game hunting. Why hum a 12 gauge to a bird shot to put together fixtures for a rabbit stew? My first pistol is the .410 870, which will be handed over to my son for Christmas this year.
I thought Charles Daly might be a fun toy, but I also saw the attraction of a hunter, especially in the price range I bought. I paid $ 229, taxes and all that fun. I don't think you can find a .410 semi-automatic shotgun in this price range. Conversely, it can be difficult to find a .410 pump pump at this price point.
Details and characteristics
The barrel is 19 inches long and the choke is cylindrical. Obviously, not even a .410 shotgun can hold a carbine-length barrel well due to the abomination of the Firearms Act. However, on the AR platform, it seems shorter than it actually is. Half-length square rails wrap around objects, and this large, sturdy barrel shroud (!) Makes it look very dull.
With the cover removed, the ultra-thin barrel bends easily and looks ridiculous.
The Charles Daily .410 Upper is a gas-powered design that comes with a set of AR-style retractable scopes that give the best experience of MBUS Magpul scopes. Using the pistol gives you a special buffer that you need to use according to the manual. Otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the top.
If the projectile is larger than 2.29 inches, it will not fit in the magazine. Many 2.5-inch cases are too long for a magazine, but can be safely loaded directly into the chamber.
The flashback layout is almost the same as expected. It is not very dense, but powerful enough to catch coyotes and similar predators.
As you can imagine, the recoil is very soft. More than 5.56 rounds, but less than 7.62 x 39. The middle ground makes it easy to shoot.
To be honest, I really liked the Charles Dailey AR .410 top and was surprised it worked really well. After Christmas, I hunt children to play. Take the old pre-cut 870.410. I can take the top of Charles Daly with me.

Fixed overloading of logs, but shouldn't be there at all. Thus, I have lost half of my points. The Charles Daily AR410 top has been found to work very well with a variety of ammo.
Accuracy: * * * *
It's a shotgun. Shotgun firing range is perfectly accurate. This sample is sufficient to kill medium-sized predators.
Ergonomics: * * * *
Want to shorten your barrel? Of course, the NFA discourages this. My main complaint is weight. Do you really need a quad rail for this? I feel like I can drop almost a pound with standard hand guards.

The Charles Daily AR410 top may not be the most practical top, but it's a lot of fun. It works surprisingly well and looks like it will be my primary little gamer since the kid purchased my Legacy .410. I didn't expect much, but it was a pleasant surprise. Charles Dailey AR410 Overhead Receiver
